Tang Xianzu and William Shakespeare were two prominent playwrights from separate cultural spheres. The two shared a similar style as seen in Tang's "Peony Pavilion" and Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet." The year 2016 marked the 400th anniversary of the men's deaths. To commemorate this, Nanjing University of the Arts presented an exhibition celebrating their legacy. My Survey of Graphic Design History class joined this event. My piece is made by hand using printed maps, gouache paint, & marker.
